My Alternative Education Teacher of Record

Qualifications:
  • Certified Secondary Teacher

Reports to: Site Manager, Administration

Responsibilities:
  • Review Credit Attainment Plan created by Enrollment Specialistbased on transcript for each student for accuracy.
  • Maintain printed copies in binder of each student’s Credit Attainment Plan.
  • Take attendance, input into SIS and sign off on student attendance records.
  • Review student lesson scores, final exam scores, and student’s written notes as received from Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator and issue points for notes.
  • Write and sign report card for course based on reviewing student scores.
  • Enter course grade into Student Information System, including incomplete courses.
  • Develop accommodationsthat demonstrate mastery of online academic coursework.
  • Perform duties of Test Supervisor for annual MME testing.

Qualifications:

Reports to: Site Manager, Administration

Responsibilities:
  • Greet, recognize and encourage all students.
  • Create a positive, welcoming and encouraging learning environment.
  • Move from student to student and assist student with signing into classes, computer application, and academic questions.
  • Maintain good rapport with students and a peaceful learning environment in the classroom.
  • Monitor student use of Internet to determine appropriateness.
  • Create online group of students in Learning Management System to monitor progress in courses.
  • Review progress reports in Learning Management System (LMS)to determine if student is ready to take final exam.

Step Up Advocate

Reports to: Step Up Coordinator
Location: 18901 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township, MI, 48035

Position Summary: Advocates are responsible for monitoring and communicating progress to students in the Step Up program. Advocates will ensure students are making adequate progress to complete one class per month. Advocates are required to contact their students twice each week.

Responsibilities:
  • Contact assigned students once per week via email, phone, or in person.
  • Monitor progress of assigned students in Compass and Odysseyware weekly.
  • Review progress of student during each contact with the student.
  • Document student progress in class and contact in Cayen.
  • Tutor assigned students as necessary.
  • Maintain contact with Step Up staff.
  • Assist student on initial meeting with computer setup and computer use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Successful passing of physical, drug screen and background check is required.

Student/Hour Ratio: Hours are based on student enrollment in the program. If there are no students, there are no hours available to advocates. Advocates are allocated one hour for every three students assigned to their roster. For example, Advocates who wish to work 10 hours per week would need to be assigned 30 students. Advocates are allowed to have up to a maximum of 50 students by law.

MVA Mentor Administrative Assistant

Reports to: MVA Director of School Partnerships
Location: 18901 15 Mile Road, Clinton Township, MI, 48035

Position Summary: The MVA Mentor Administrative Assistant is responsible for entering all enrollment data and class schedules into the SIS for the school. The MVA Mentor Administrative Assistant maintains the student records and files, ensuring an accurate data profile on each student.

Responsibilities:
  • Enter enrollment data, schedule, drops, and adds into Student Information System (SIS).
  • Send release of record request to respective school(s).
  • Input transcript into SIS.
  • Maintain immunization records through MICR.
  • Ensure student files are maintained.
  • Contact students as needed.
  • Withdraw students based on mentor & MVA Director of School Partnerships approval.
  • Ensure all schedules are complete and printed by 5:00 PM the day before Count Day.
  • Call students whose files are incomplete.
  • Enter student grades as earned throughout the school year.
  • Assist mentors with state testing requirements.
  • Assist mentors with state count requirements and documents, including any audits.
  • Ensure that district student roster is 100% accurate with MVA student roster.
  • Ensure that all Section 25 paperwork is filed accordingly and submitted to the district within 28 days of first enrollment.
  • Close out all students for year.
  • Maintain compliance with all company and district policies along with procedures.
  • Maintain communication with school district personnel as needed and attend district training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience :
  • High school diploma.
  • Two years of administrative experience minimum.
